The PRP Facial procedure uses the same blood-derived growth factors used in the PRP Face Lift procedure. The difference is that with the PRP Facial the physician or Medical Aesthetician (provider is dependent on the depth of the micro-needling) applies the PRP topically. With the PRP Face Lift the physician injects the PRP into the face and combines it with hyaluronic acid filler such as Juvederm or Restylane).
The PRP Facial is a designer procedure in which your own blood specimen is used to re-energize cells, boost collagen production and stimulate growth factor production. A tube of your blood is drawn and then processed to harvest the platelet rich plasma (PRP). We apply a thin layer a numbing cream to your face to ensure patient comfort during the procedure. The PRP is applied topically followed by Micro-Needling of the skin with a Micro Pen, a process in which the skin is perforated with microscopic channels, which allows for a transdermal delivery of the PRP. The growth factors in the PRP re-energize cells to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin’s tone and texture. Following the Micro-Needling, a second layer of PRP is applied allowing for maximum benefit. While this treatment has a little more social downtime than the PRP Face Lift because of the micro-needling, patients are pleased to see that the overall tone, texture and quality of their skin is greatly improved. Patients can expect at least 1 to 2 days of social downtime.

PRP Facial FAQ’s
How Does the PRP Facial Work?
The process for Micro-Needling is carried out with the MicroPen, an automated pen that is made up of multiple miniature needles. The needles pierce the upper layers of the skin causing pinpoint injury and channeling, which has two major benefits because it successfully stimulates collagen formation, and provides a clear topical channel for creams and gels to be absorbed effectively through the top layer of skin. Micro-Needling creates only minor trauma, which lasts for a short period of time and does not result in bruising or swelling in the treated area. For the PRP Facial, your own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is combined with the treatment, which is layered and massaged into the treatment area.
What is the PRP Facial?
The PRP Facial is a treatment that incorporates your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and Micro-Needling. This facial stimulates collagen production and improves fine lines and winkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage and scars. Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new skin rejuvenation treatment that is comparable in results to skin rejuvenation lasers – but without the downtime or cost. This treatment allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro “injuries” in the skin, which triggers new collagen formation, yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring. The growth factor-rich topical PRP solution is applied to the skin after Micro-Needling and is effectively absorbed, further enhancing your results, stimulating collagen production and waking up the skin at a cellular level.

Where on the body can the PRP Facial be used?
The PRP Facial can be used on all parts of the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
What is a PRP Facial treatment like?
The PRP Facial treatment begins with drawing a vial of blood from the patient. The provider places the blood in a centrifuge and spins the blood at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. The platelets are then activated, producing your very own Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). Next, the skin is numbed with topical anesthetic cream, so the treatment can be performed with minimal discomfort. The automated MicroPen is then applied over the treatment area creating micro “injuries” in the skin. The growth factor-rich topical PRP solution is applied to the skin and effectively absorbed, which will stimulate collagen production and wake up the skin at a cellular level. Patients experience very little social downtime.
How many office visits are required?
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after treatment as collagen production continues. Some patients only require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is typically recommended for most patients to receive a series of 2-4 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart.
