What is ThermiTight?
ThermiTight is the first aesthetic procedure, which delivers controlled thermal energy under the skin to reverse the effects of aging. ThermiTight is great for problem areas of the face, neck, tummy, arms, thighs and other tissues. It can work on most areas of the body.
How does ThermiTight work?
ThermiTight is a painless, micro-invasive procedure. A tiny probe is inserted under the skin; then, radiofrequency energy is applied directly to the target tissues causing immediate shrinkage.
Is Radiofrequency safe for skin tightening?
Several clinical studies have been done, and their results have shown that RF technology is safe when used in aesthetics and cosmetic surgery. It is also commonly used for cardiovascular therapy, pain management, and other types of medicine.
What does the ThermiTight procedure feel like?
Because ThermiRF uses local anesthetic, some patients experience minimal discomfort during the injection of the numbing agent. After the area is numbed, however, there is little-to-no discomfort. Patients may feel pressure or warmth, but not pain. Swelling and bruising is likely; adhering to aftercare instructions will minimize these effects.
How is the ThermiTight procedure performed?
Dr. John Serrao performs ThermiTight in his accredited office-based surgical center. The areas to be treated are numbed with a small amount of local anesthetic. A very small incision is made to allow the radiofrequency fiber under the skin to shrink the tissue. The fiber heats the target tissues in an effective, safe and controlled fashion. It tightens the skin and diminishes lumpy fat pockets.

How long does it take to perform ThermiTight?
The entire procedure is typically done in about an hour to 2 hours depending on the protocol and the treatment zone.

What are the downtime and risks of ThermiTight?
ThermiTight is a micro-invasive procedure performed using local anesthesia. Patients may experience slight swelling, mild bruising and redness after the treatment. Most patients usually return to normal activity within 24 to 48 hours, and some will do lighter activity for 48 hours after the treatment. You will wear a compression garment or neckband for a few days after the treatment.
There are minimal risks with the ThermiTight procedure and no permanent damage has been reported. All of these will be discussed with you during your consultation with Dr. Serrao.
When will I see the results from my ThermiTight procedure?
Results can be immediate but usually improvement is noticed at 3 months and continues to improve over time.
