What is ThermiVa?
ThermiVa is a non-surgical solution for vaginal laxity, and it is the only system that is designed to use radio frequency energy at various temperatures. The heat that is generated by the treatment stimulates collagen production that thickens the tissue. This thickening is why ThermiVa is an effective method for improving lax muscles in the vaginal canal.
How is ThermiVa Performed?
The applicator for the ThermiVa system is about the size of a tampon. It is slowly inserted into the vaginal canal, and Dr. Serrão applies the radio frequency energy at a specific temperature. The applicator may be moved in and out of the vaginal canal to ensure that all the tissues receive the same level of radio frequency energy. Most of our patients say that the treatment is much more comfortable than a pelvic examination. Dr. Serrão may recommend a series of three to four treatments.
How Long is the Recovery from ThermiVa?
ThermiVa takes less than an hour, and most treatments take about 45 minutes. You can drive yourself home, and there is no need to change your activities. You can return to your normal schedule.
